How this started
Surrey Shrimp began the way most shrimp businesses do: with one innocent tank of Cherry Reds and absolutely no self-control. A few years later the spare room is wall-to-wall tanks, the selective breeding projects have projects of their own, and we produce far more healthy, high-grade shrimp than any one household could reasonably hoard.
So we sell them, and we’d rather sell them well. Every animal that leaves here was bred here, raised in stable UK water, and packed by the same hands that fed it that morning.
What we care about
Healthy stock over fast stock: we never sell berried females or fresh moults, and juveniles go out only once they are robust enough to travel. Honest grading: if a shrimp is an A grade we will not call it an S. And aftercare that doesn’t end at checkout. Email us a photo of a sad-looking shrimp any time and you’ll get a straight answer, usually the same day.
